Project "Developing a digital solution for electronic services in the penal enforcement system"

The project promoter is the Lithuanian Prison Service. Project partners: the Department of Informatics and Communications under the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania, the Lithuanian Bar Association and the National Courts Administration.

The aim of the project is to improve the quality of services and the quality of service provided by the Lithuanian Prison Service and its units to persons by creating a digital solution for electronic services of the penal execution system, modernising the information system of the Lithuanian Prison Service and adapting and integrating it with systems managed by other institutions.

The problems we aim to solve with this project are:

the implementation of the project is necessary to ensure timely and rapid provision of electronic services to Lithuanian natural and legal persons on the basis of the data of the Penalty Enforcement System (Lithuanian Prison Service and Lithuanian Probation Service), which is transmitted to the Lithuanian Judicial Information System, the Register of Administrative Offences, the Integrated Criminal Procedure Information System, the Population Register, the Family Support Information System, the Register of Suspects, Accused and Convicted Persons, and the State Border Guard Service Information System.

The implementation of the project will contribute to the transformation of the management of state information technologies, so that the information technology infrastructure, services and processes of state institutions are managed in a centralised, efficient and secure way.

Ther project activities:

• Establishment of the Lithuanian Prison Service Information System (KADIS-2);
• Modernisation and development of the information system of the Department of Informatics and Communications;
• Modernisation and development of the information system of the Lithuanian Bar Association;
• Modernisation and development of the information system of the National Judicial Administration (LITEKO).

The project implementation period is from 4 February 2022 to 30 April 2026.

The project value is EUR 3 847 649 including VAT.

The financing is provided by the European Union Funds and the Recovery and Resilience Facility for the period 2021-2027 and the State Budget of the Republic of Lithuania.
